DON’T GIVE UP

Image
TEXT: LUKE 19:1-10  I want to preach today about the topic “Don’t Give Up”. Why this topic don’t give up? It means, there will always be something that will want to make you to give up. The word “Don’t give up” is a sweet word to hear, it’s even very cheap to utter. These words have become more of a slogan than an action word. Today when you see someone passing through a hard time or a deep mess it is very easy to tap him at his back and say “Don’t give up” because you don’t really know how deep the mess.  Therefore if I tell you that you will not find yourself in a situation that will lead to this conclusion “I will give up” then am lying. No matter your level of faith, you will surely have to pass through hardship, unexplainable circumstances, hard times, storm of life hit you, no matter how strong you are, you will feel like giving up, you will surely feel like quitting.  King David and his men matched out in battle with Achish, when the commanders of the p...

PULLING DOWN STRONGHOLDS THROUGH PRAYER

Image
*TEXT: 2 COR 10:4-5, ROM 12:12* No doubt, stronghold are difficulties. It can be either spiritual or physical but you need to pray faithfully to demolish them. Man pray, they pray hard, spend long hours in prayers, quote all notable bible passages but one of the reasons for lack or answers is the unfaithfulness of the personality. Prayer is the privilege to be able to speak to God Himself. Ability to take my matter to my creator without an intermediary. *Prayer is not what is said to force God to give unto us, but prayer is what is said to receive from God that which he already longs to give us.* God longs to give us Joy, victory, blessings, a peaceful nation, good health, a blessed country. Therefore, when these promises are not forthcoming, there are strongholds to be pulled down. Starting from sins. Ruth Billgram, wife of Evan. Billgram says *"pray when you feel like, for it is a sin to neglect such opportunity. She continued, pray when you don't feel like, for ...

PRAY FOR US

Image
PRAY FOR US Luke 22:31-32 Every mother is expected to have a tool. The simplest, most common, effective and easy to carry. A tool that there is no need for training to use, no academic qualification is required, can be used anywhere, anytime and anyhow. Infact, it is not regulated by time, law or believe, it can only be structured by them. You do not need to be a pastor’s wife before you can use this tool effectively, you don’t need to be a deacon or Deaconess, you don’t need to be in the prayer warrior department to be effective in using it. You do not even need to run to a church, mountain top or anywhere before it could be used. And this tool is *prayer* (the tool of every mother). My definition of *Mother* is who is awake to the upbringing and up keeping of the home when others are sleeping. It’s one thing to give birth, and it’s another thing to be responsible in upbringing. According to *Ruth Billigram*, pray when you feel like it, for it is a sin to neglect ...

PRAISE THE LORD

Image
TEXT: PSALM 150 The phrase 'praise the Lord' if you will agree I with me is thr most used phrase in any assembly of the believer.  This shows that it js important to praise God as a living soul. Praising God must be part of our existence- which means as long as you are alive, praising God is a must. It is a lifestyle. I have come to understand that a life that patterns his living around a praise lives a victorious life. Someone told me this, "No matter how strong you are in prayers, no matter how dedicated you are to your prayer life, problems and storms will still surface. But no matter how big and mighty the storms and problems are, I praise God." The fuel of our living is praise. Praising God is more than just singing hymnals, drumming or  clapping of hands. It is even deeper than coming to church in our beautiful attires or giving us your latest dancing steps. Praise is definitely more than that. Praise is the fuel of our soul. I will want us to look a...

COVID-19 LOCKDOWN; The LESSONS AND WAY FORWARD (Series 3)

6. RESULT OF PULPIT PAMPERING .  The word of God is for discipline, correction, exhortation and for rebuke. I repeat, for rebuke! The time has come to truthfully use the word to rebuke. This is the time for every anointed preacher to speak out. The pulpit is not only a place to raise money, heal the sick, perform miracles, for motivational talks that make people clap their hands or shout ‘ride on pastor.’ Instead, it is a place to make people cry and confess their emptiness. A place to boldly attack the wickedness of man. To be blunt with the truth. If you find it difficult to use the pulpit to say the truth and rebuke men, then climb it no more.” Never worry about who will be offended if you speak the truth, but worry about who will be misled, deceived and destroyed if you do not speak the truth. The result of pulpit pampering has increased societal crimes instead of reducing them. The increase in miracle centers and churches should practically reduce crimes, but no! W...

COVID-19 LOCKDOWN; The LESSONS AND WAY FORWARD (Series 2)

Image
The Most Rev OTIS continued his teaching on the COVID-19 Lockdown series and here are continuation of his posits!  4. UNPREPARED FUTURE PLAN : We are all here today in the future some people created years back. Our children will also find themselves in the future we create now. Last week, I said the future is something we create, not what we enter into. The future is not a miracle or mystery. It is a harvest of the choices we make today. Therefore, to have a harvest of a brighter and better future, all you need to do is to make the right choices today. I have seen a generation that want everything to be miracle, miracle, miracle without carefully planning ahead and sowing today what will be harvested tomorrow. We put on hand bands with church logos, face caps, tee shirts, handkerchief et.c not because of identification with church but because of miracle. Today we talk about Dubai, Japan, South Africa and so on. They are not where they are today because of increase in or...

COVID-19 LOCKDOWN; THE LESSONS AND WAY FORWARD.

Image
No one expected or envisage this pandemic to happen or affect every sector of our Nation like this. We all went about our businesses with little or no knowledge of what is about to hit us. I saw a lot of family thrown into mishap and many individuals lost their job.  This made me sit and think of lessons you should learn from COVID-19 lockdown . 1. It clearly shows the supremacy of God. We humans, particularly Christains have little or no acknowledgement of who God truly is, but this pandemic makes us see him in another dimension. 2. The pretence and hypocrisy of most self-acclaimed Christains were exposed. We have individuals who rarely study the scripture for the past five months. Many christains also gave in to the situations. Their attitude and way of life was dictated by the wave of the moment. "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ...." Rom 8:35 was clearly demonstrated. "I am convinced...." Rom8:38. Truly, I'm convinced that the news o...

LIVING CHRIST ARCHBISHOP WELCOME MEMBERS AND THE NATION TO 2020

Happy New Year to you, may this New Year bring you breakthrough, success, promotion and blessing in Jesus name. As we enter this New Year one major thing every man will be engaged in is “Thinking” Thinking on how to live a successful life, problem free life, financial prosperity, good health, marital bliss, and so on. To think is not the problem but to think good is the challenge, because those who develop the process of good thinking can rule themselves even while under an oppressive ruler or in difficulties circumstance. Therefore to change your life in year 2020 is to change your thinking. Brethren, David Schwartz said “Where success is considered, people are not measured in inches or pounds or college degrees or family background they are measured by the size of their thinking. As you start this year, think good, think positive, for you to think positive this year, it means that negative events of last year must be kissed goodbye to give way for a focused life this year...
