COVID-19 LOCKDOWN; The LESSONS AND WAY FORWARD (Series 3)

6. RESULT OF PULPIT PAMPERING.

The word of God is for discipline, correction, exhortation and for rebuke. I repeat, for rebuke! The time has come to truthfully use the word to rebuke. This is the time for every anointed preacher to speak out.
The pulpit is not only a place to raise money, heal the sick, perform miracles, for motivational talks that make people clap their hands or shout ‘ride on pastor.’ Instead, it is a place to make people cry and confess their emptiness. A place to boldly attack the wickedness of man. To be blunt with the truth. If you find it difficult to use the pulpit to say the truth and rebuke men, then climb it no more.”
Never worry about who will be offended if you speak the truth, but worry about who will be misled, deceived and destroyed if you do not speak the truth.
The result of pulpit pampering has increased societal crimes instead of reducing them. The increase in miracle centers and churches should practically reduce crimes, but no! Where there is more godliness, there should be less crime. Climbing the pulpit means loyalty to Christ at any cost. Anything less  than that is pulpit romancing.
Pastor Paul Eneche said; “One of the major assignment of any true pastor is to tell people the raw truth. Anything that we do in church that does not guarantee us heaven is a waste of life.”
Hear this, “What is the need for a miracle, when crimes keep increasing in our society by the same people that attend these our miracle services, anointing and healing services every Sunday” What is the need for miracle or attendance in church that will end you In hell?  Anytime I look at the cross, I get just one message which is the cross must change me, He died for me to change. Therefore, my sermon must change me, change you and our life must influence people to come closer to us, that is if we are not being wasteful. Most times sinners feel at home around us, they are comfortable with our company because we live a compromised lifestyle. The greatest pain to Christ is if we ( so-called Christians)  come to his presence daily without any sign of being changed. The pulpit has become a marketplace, advertising and fashion stage. No wonder the church of today has become a spiritual club, disco house and Stage for comic shows.
If my pulpit does not make you feel or see your emptiness and dryness, then the pulpit has become a relaxation Centre. The need for this pulpit in the first place is to change you into the nature of Christ. Whenever Christ is glorified, His spirit and presence is there. Anything short of that, then there’s no church.
Anytime a priest mount the podium, we are digging deep to sow a seed which will surely germinate. When the foundation of the word is not strong, the structure will be weak, though it may look beautiful. Today, we have big churches but not one inch deep in the word of truth.
I challenge all ministers, ‘ make your church a word based church. Make the members word carriers, word dwellers and actors. When you are a word carrier then the double edge sword is in you. The enemy won’t dare you.
Titus 1:3 “….he bought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me.* What is entrusted to me is what will give you light.
Hear this, The word is light and there is light in the word, there are miracles, healings, salvations, deliverances, wonders, solutions, comforts, Joy, peace and goodness in the word. Abide therein, because the word is Jesus and Jesus is the word.
If Jesus is the word, then that word is my light, strength, rock, fortress, deliverer, refuge, shield, horn of salvation and stronghold.
The day the woman with the issue of blood had an encounter with the Word,  her life was transformed.
Christ in me the hope of Glory. Surely, the Word in me the balm for hopelessness.
