PRAISE THE LORD

TEXT: PSALM 150

The phrase 'praise the Lord' if you will agree I with me is thr most used phrase in any assembly of the believer. 

This shows that it js important to praise God as a living soul. Praising God must be part of our existence- which means as long as you are alive, praising God is a must. It is a lifestyle. I have come to understand that a life that patterns his living around a praise lives a victorious life.

Someone told me this, "No matter how strong you are in prayers, no matter how dedicated you are to your prayer life, problems and storms will still surface. But no matter how big and mighty the storms and problems are, I praise God."

The fuel of our living is praise.

Praising God is more than just singing hymnals, drumming or  clapping of hands. It is even deeper than coming to church in our beautiful attires or giving us your latest dancing steps. Praise is definitely more than that. Praise is the fuel of our soul.

I will want us to look at Psalm 150 together as it shows the in-depth of praise. This psalms shows the 4W-H of praising God.

In this Psalm of only six verses, it was commanded to praise the Lord 13 times. This implies that it's very important to praise the Lord.

The psalmist did not leave it up to readers to figure out the importance of this Psalm, he did not use symbols and metaphors, he made the phrase "Praise the Lord" simple fir all as he carefully shows us the 'where, why, who, when and who to praise God.'

1. Where should I praise God?

Praise God in his Sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heavens. The sanctuary is not only our respective churches because God sanctuary is wherever God is; your soul, your home, your office, the gym, the park. You are also his Sanctuary as recorded in 1cor3:16. Therefore, praise him.

2. Why should I praise the Lord?

Praise him for his acts of power. Praise him for his surpassing greatness. 

Here, the list of his acts of power and surpassing greatness are unlimited. For his love, promised, protection, victories, blessings, good health, salvation, breakthrough. For waking up and being able to stand up, victories over nightmares, deliverance from enemies and so on. The greatness of God is beyond imagination. Look around you and you will this touch of greatness in your home, spouse, children, ministry, businesses, education and a lots more.

3. How to praise God.

Praise him with the sounding of trumpets, harps, lute, timbrels, strings, clashing of cymbals, resounding cymbals and dancing.

So, praise him today with everything available for you to make a joyful noise and moves.

4 Who should praise God?(vs6)

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. It is a reminder that you are alive. As long as you breath, no matter the circumstances or situation you find yourself, praise the Lord.

Are you sick? Just praise him. Are you in prison? Praise him. Are you in financial mess? You should praise him. Are you facing any terrible battle now? Still praise him.

When you praise him in your situations, you praise him out of the situation and you will surely praise him over the situation. As long as you can breathe, you should praise him.

5. When to praise the Lord.

Since the only qualification to praising God is having breath, then praise God at all times. Do not let psalm 150 be in the bible for nothing. Let us praise the Lord.

Praising God is never a waste of time, energy or resources. Praising God is rewarding.

1. Praise is a master key that unlocks any closed doors. If your doors of blessing and victory seems not to open, praise God for the opportunity given to have access to the door of praise because if the door of praise can be opened whrn you praise God, no other door will remain shut.

When Paul and Silas praised God, all other doors of the prison were thrown opened too.

2. Praise is a seed. Many thought praising God is fun fair. Now, you are planting seeds of praise which by the time it brings forth fruit, you will pluck testimonies in varieties. The seed of praise is the only seed that brings out different kinds of fruits; fruit of blessing, success, protection, provision, e.t.c. 

This I am confident about, the fruit of praise can not be uprooted by the devil or by wickedness. Anytime you praise God, a seed is planted. Don't let anyone force you to praise God. Don't let circumstances determine your praise. Don't let men or situation determine your praise. Don't wait till you are talk into praising God. It is a seed which you will surely reap its fruit.

3. Praise is the essence of life. Living life happily is what everyone desire. Living a life of purpose and fulfilment is the dream of all man. The kind of world we find ourselves or let me say created by man ( leadership) might not make it efficient for us to achieve these desires or dreams. But, when you live as a man full of praise, though your dreams and desires might not be fully fulfilled, yet you will be happy because you have cause to praise him and move on with your life.

When you pattern your life around praise, it makes it clear that living is of no regret. When the Lord brings you to the full knowledge of praise, nothing will make regret ever living. Through your praise life are saved, homes comes near to God, futures are secured, testimonies are guaranteed.

Let us praise him. In praise lies a fulfilling living.
