LCGC celebrates One Year Thanksgiving in style

It was amidst fun fare and all joy as the church of God, Living Christ Gospel Church celebrates the one year thanksgiving of the fatal accident that almost crumbled the church.

The gathering was with hearts full of gratitude to celebrate a divine miracle that has marked our lives and our nation’s history. It was a day of thanksgiving, a day to honor the God of miracles who turned tragedy into testimony one year ago.

On June 7, 2024, our church faced a moment that could have shattered us. An 18-seater bus carrying our esteemed leaders, the top echelons of our ministry, was involved in a horrific accident while in transit from Ado Ekiti to Ijebu land, Ogun State. The vehicle somersaulted not once, not twice, but four times at Gbongan, Osun state. In the history of Nigeria, accidents of such magnitude have often been synonymous with loss of life.

Yet, in this moment of chaos, God’s hand was upon us. Miraculously, every single soul on that bus emerged alive—no fatalities, no lives lost. This was not just a survival; it was a divine declaration that our God is mighty to save!

This unprecedented event stands as a testament to the power of God’s protection. Never in the records of our nation has such a catastrophic accident ended with every passenger preserved. This was no ordinary occurrence—it was a miracle that defied human understanding. The Bible says in Psalm 91:7, “A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.” That day, God fulfilled this promise in the live of our church, and we stand in awe of His faithfulness.

Gratitude to God, today, we lift our voices in thanksgiving to the Almighty, the One who shields His own. We thank God for His mercy that preserved every life on that bus. We thank Him for the strength He gave our leaders to endure and recover. We also extend our gratitude to the first responders (members of the Federal Road safety commission) Gbongan, Osun State, The medical Hospital, and every member of the church who prayed, supported, and stood by our leadership during that trying time. Their faith, love, and unity were a reflection of God’s grace working through us all.

This miracle is not just a story; it is a legacy. It reminds us that God is still in the business of doing the impossible. It strengthens our faith to trust Him in every storm. To everyone from the MOSER to the least person on that bus, your lives are a living testimony of God’s power. Your survival speaks louder than words, proclaiming to the world that our God reigns. As we celebrate today, we are reminded of Lamentations 3:22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

As the church marks this one-year anniversary, let everyone within and without recommit themselves to serving God with unwavering faith. Let this miracle inspire us to share His love, to pray without ceasing, and to live lives that glorify Him.
May this celebration be a milestone in our journey of faith, a reminder that with God, all things are possible. Thank you, and God bless Living Christ Gospel Church.
